Emergency Pet Care DeLand FLIn today’s world, medical emergencies happen more frequently than we would like. When pets get hurt in an accident or they have a life-threatening medical condition, they require emergency pet care. Our facility consists of a fully equipped, state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit staffed by highly trained critical care veterinarians and technicians. Emergency care involves stabilizing the patient and may include placing intravenous catheters, administering IV fluids, pain medications, oxygen therapy and sometimes blood or plasma transfusions. Our in-house laboratory, radiology and ultrasound capabilities enable us to get crucial diagnostic information very quickly. Our Blood Bank program guarantees that our canine and feline patients have access to a safe and adequate blood supply. Critical patients are closely monitored with continuous ECGs, oxygen support, fluid pumps, blood pressure monitoring and other advanced procedures. All of DeLand Animal Hospital patients receive round-the-clock observation and treatment.
